Laurel Darren

Laurel Darren has been an athlete her entire life. Cycling and running became a part of her life when making her life goal to complete an IRONMAN. On August 30 2009 she will jump off the pier in Louisville, KY with her sights set on crossing the finish line 2.4 swim miles, 112 bike miles and 26.2 run miles later.

Laurel has competed in over 300 road races, completed 15 marathon with just recently clocking a sub 4 hour. At the. Boston Marathon. Laurel has finished 5 ultramarathons with a 3rd place finish in the Northface Endurance Challenge 50k in 2008 in Madison, WI. On the cycling side, Laurel has completed RAGBRAI, TOMRV and has finished local cyclo cross races. One of her most prized accomplishments is placing in the top 25 females at the steamboat classic 15k road race in 2007 and also winning the Solon, IA 10 miler. Laurel is currently training for IRONMAN LOUISVILLE and works as a massage therapist at John Taylor Day Spa.

In her spare time....what spare time she enjoys her 2 retired racing greyhounds, Boss Hogg and Vinnie. Laurel is also a 80's hair band music fanatic. Do what you love. Love what you do.
